Written about modern dating in the United States - how intimacy has been reshaped by apps, algorithms, and a culture that turns people into options instead of partners. From the perspective of someone who gives deeply and realizes effort alone is never enough in a system built on endless choice. Crowns are easy to wear. Kingdoms are hard to build.
Production story
Written in G minor at 120 BPM in 12/8 meter - giving it a triplet-feel groove that sits between folk and soul. The string arrangements from Damian Bolotin and Marco Pescosolido carry the heartbreak while Jonas Hocherman's trombone adds an unexpected warmth to the bridge. Vocal layering was key - Angel Clare's direction shaped the post-chorus into something intimate and cinematic simultaneously. Mixed by Yago Marques and mastered in Dolby Atmos by Luciano Vassão as an Apple Digital Master.
